The German Course: Intensive and Focused Learning

Lupe [1]

In our intensive German courses at levels B2 and C1, you will improve your language skills and have many opportunities to put them to practical use. The curriculum is specifically tailored to the language skills you need in the context of university and research.

Experienced teachers will support you in:

  • expanding your vocabulary and grammar knowledge,
  • developing language skills for everyday life and university,
  • learning and applying the specifics of communication in a university environment.

Using materials on current research issues, you will learn how academic language works and practice the vocabulary and grammar needed in academic communication. Through discussions, presentations, projects, research, and writing assignments, you will have many opportunities to practice and develop your language skills.

You will learn efficiently in small groups and receive individual feedback on your progression. A placement test prior to starting your classes will help place you at your ideal course level.

How does the SummerLanguageSchool work online!

First, you meet Monday through Thursday in a video conference to practice oral communication. In these conferences, you might, for example, partake in a group discussion, give a presentation, work in teams on projects, plan, research together ... – that is, train every aspect of student communication and interaction.

(You can find out more about the project day on Friday here [2]).

Second, you will find materials for individual work, but also tools for collaborative projects, on the learning platform Moodle. Here you will find—in parallel with the topics covered in the video conference—texts and videos, vocabulary and grammar exercises, tasks for written and oral production, further links, and so on. Of course, you will receive personalized feedback and always have the opportunity to ask questions.
