The placement test solely serves the ZEMS-internal purpose of assessing the general level of language proficiency, thus ensuring a uniform language level across courses and effective lessons.
The placement test is a cloze test that is designed to assess your global language competence. For a number of words, a part of the word is missing which should be completed in a meaningful way. In your own interest you should not use any aids.
The test takes about 30 minutes and consists of 5 or 6 short texts of varying difficulty.
An explanation of how to realize the special characters of the tested language can be found in the respective tests.
You can only take the test once per semester.
Course recommendation and course booking
At the end of the test you will be told which course you should register for.
You can always access this recommendation. Register for a corresponding course. You will be asked in class to show the result of the placement test.
