ZEMS currently issues language certificates (Sprachgutachten) for tested competency in Chinese [1], English [2], French [3], Italian [4], Portuguese [5], Russian [6] and Spanish [7].

Fees

The issuing of language certificates at the ZEMS is generally subject to a fee. This fee is 40 Euros for TU Berlin students. The fee for non-student members of the TU Berlin, external applicants, and secondary students is 80 Euros. Please note that you must upload proof of payment of this fee prior to commencing the test.

Withdrawal / Cancellation

Cancellations can only be made by writing to: sekretariat@zems.tu-berlin.de [8] and are subject to the following conditions: Up to 3 days before the test date, you will receive a full refund of the test fee, minus a processing fee of 5.00 Euros. Less than 3 days before the test date, fees cannot be refunded. See link [9].

Identification

You must upload your student ID as identification.

Registration process

Scenario 1

If, within the last two semesters, you completed a ZEMS course in the language you need certification of, and you were awarded a minimum grade of 2.0, please register below.

Scenario 2

If situation 1 does not apply, you will have to take a test to obtain a language certificate. This test consists of three parts:

• reading comprehension
• written production
• oral interaction
